Josh Carroll, President
John was born and raised in Boston. He is currently completing his doctorate in clinical psychology where he will continue to work in Sport and Organizational Psychology. He loves being president of Del Rey because he “Enjoys bringing people together and challenging the group to get better through communication.”
Rebecca Perry, VP of Education
Rebecca joined Del Rey Toastmasters in January 2012 to improve her public speaking skills so she can use her life experience to bring hope to others. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Doc Holiday.
Ivan Alvarado-Rodriguez, VP of Membership
Ivan is a member of the Research Staff at HRL Laboratories in Malibu. He obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He joined toasmasters to become a better communicator and to improve his public speaking skills. His hobbies include sailing and snowboarding.
Kate Gill, VP of Public Relations
Kate was born in Russia and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Art History, she went to Santa Monica College to complete an A.A. degree in Accounting and Business Administration. She currently works for an art archival firm downtown, and at a small film studio in Mar Vista. She hopes to venture her career path into marketing or advertising in the near future. Kate’s hobbies include hiking, reading, attending art museums, shopping, and rollerblading on the beach. Kate joined Toastmasters in February to improve her communication skills and to become a more confident speaker. She hopes her public speaking skills from Toastmasters will help her excel in the business career world.
Jonathan MacLucas, Treasurer
Jonathan joined Toastmasters in January 2011 because of a calling from the Lord to improve his public speaking skills. Jonathan is a CPA and Chartered Accountant and specializes as an SEC financial reporting consultant to publicly traded companies. In his spare time he is an avid student of the bible and also enjoys a passion for ballroom dancing. Jonathan is South African and moved to the Marina Del Rey in 2003 where he has resided since because he can’t think of a better place to live.
Ascanio Pignatelli, Secretary
Ascanio was born in Rome, and raised in Europe. He moved to California to attend Pepperdine University where he got a BA in economics. Besides a year abroad teaching scuba diving, the southern California coast has been his home since. In 2012 Ascanio joined Toastmasters to sharpen his leadership and communication skills. He is a life coach committed to helping people live the life of their dreams. Although Ascanio is a very accomplished scuba diver, climber, and traveler he is most proud of his amazing six year old daughter Tatiana.
