Officer Roster – July through December 2016

Sergey Kucher, President

Sergey was born and grown up in Moscow Russia.
In 2005 Sergey has received his Master degree in sociology with emphasis on empirical survey.
Sergey’s mountaineering friends invited him in Rope Access field. Sergey was instantly inspired by idea of using rope techniques and equipment to access remote and high areas of building, structures and industrial facilities for maintenance and repair. Soon he has started his own company in this field called AlpVershina, LLC. This was a huge challenge but the best conditions for personal growth and improvement. Sergey understood the importance of self-discipline and continuous growth.
In three years, after hundreds of falls and ups his company generated enough momentum and experience to generate profit. By that time life prepared a new challenge for him. There was an opportunity to move in US with his wife. It was not an easy decision to leave company in which he invested three years of his life as well as to go in country he has heard just from hollywood movies. In fact, it’d be very bold decision because his English was on basic level and his finances were limited. As first adventurists who founded America Sergey has said “YES” to this opportunity.
In 2012 Sergey has moved to US. It was a start from “0”: no friends, no work, no language. After six month of persistent learning of language, culture and business he started his business in exterior building maintenance field as independent contractor. He called his company RayAccess. By 2015 his company became a corporation with 5 employees and outstanding reputation in Los Angeles. Indeed, it was also a unique provider of rope access services.
In 2013 Sergey joined first Toastmasters club in Marina del Rey – Del Rey Toastmasters. He was invited as a guest and instantly realized opportunity for growth. Since that time he became active member not only in giving speeches but also regularly taking roles and polishing his communication and leadership skills. In July 2015 he was elected as a President of his home club, Del Rey Toastmasters. He is very excited about this opportunity to learn, and help his club to become even better.
Besides of Toastmasters, Sergey is currently studying MBA at Loyola Marymount University, running his company, enjoying family life with his wonderful wife and daughter. He also supports active lifestyle by having various hobbies such as running, rock climbing, surfing, camping, fitness. He is also planning to get back in skydiving soon.
