elcome to the Del Rey Toastmasters Club's website. Our club is based in the beautiful Marina del Rey community, and we've become one of the Los Angeles region's most dynamic clubs.

The Del Rey Toastmasters Club provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment that enables members to develop effective public speaking and leadership skills. Our organization is a member club of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking - vital skills that enhance one's communications skills and leadership potential.

What's the secret to Toastmasters' success? Practice. Instead of passively listening to lectures by communications "experts," Toastmasters believes that people can only truly improve their public speaking skills by actually speaking in front of others regularly. Our club provides a proactive and supportive atmosphere for members to speak before the club on a weekly basis. By taking advantage of our ongoing speaking opportunities, you'll find that those shy and awkward feelings that are common with public speaking will begin to diminish much quicker than being coached by a high priced consultant!

You're welcome to become a guest at our next meeting to see for yourself how we help members improve their public speaking skills. Our meetings are held at 7 p.m. sharp every Thursday at the Marina del Rey Marriott Hotel in Marina del Rey. Please check the hotel marquee for meeting room information and location.

If you like what you see, we will start helping you realize your communications potential. Upon signing up, you will immediately receive a training manual and be assigned to a mentor. Depending on your comfort level, you will be given the opportunity to give your first speech - whether it's a four-minute "ice-breaker" speech that tells others about yourself, or a simple "closing thought" message to share a special thought for the day.
